Two stone bulls flanking north side of Throne Hall at the UNESCO world Heritage site of Persepolis, Fars Province. Literally {quote}city of Persians{quote}, Persepolis was the ceremonial capital of the Achaemenid Empire (ca. 550–330 BC).  The complex was burnt to the ground by Alexander the great in 330bce, not before etensive looting.
